ANFIBIA
An intensive professional multidisciplinary Perfoming Arts Program for contemporary performers and dancers aged 18-35. Daily technique, international choreographers, real performances. Bologna, Italy.
TRANSDISCIPLINARY PROGRAM FOR CONTEMPORARY PERFORMERS
The Program
ANFIBIA is a transdisciplinary training program for performers who refuse to be defined by a single discipline. Dance, physical theatre, voice, music, acrobatics, dramaturgy and theory converge in a single living ecosystem hosted at BACH Art Centre in Bologna, one of Europe’s most vibrant hubs for contemporary creation.
The program is officially accredited by the Region of Emilia-Romagna. Graduates receive the Certificate in Performing Arts, a qualification recognised and valid throughout the European Union.
Intensive Program 2026/2027
From October to May, five days a week, 9 am to 3:45 pm, you train alongside artists who are actively shaping the international performing arts scene. Daily sessions move fluidly between contemporary dance, floorwork, contact improvisation, acrobatic movement, singing and vocality, acting and drama, performative movement and classical ballet.
Seminars
The program includes in-depth seminars on somatic practices, body awareness and artistic research — BMC® Body Mind Centering, Anatomy of a Spiral, CORPO POETICO® (Dance, Theatre, Disability, Integration) — alongside sessions on set and costume design, light design, and Italian language for international participants.
Artistic Management and Entrepreneurship
The training also addresses the professional dimension of the artistic career. Dedicated sessions on individual management, cultural production and self-entrepreneurship give participants the tools to act consciously in the contemporary arts landscape.
International Guests
Each month the program hosts internationally renowned artists for intensive workshops of 4 days to one full week. This season's guests include Brandon Lagaert (Peeping Tom Company), Marigia Maggipinto (Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch), Tomer Navot (Sharon Fridman practice INA), Laura Frigato (PARC Company) and Eduardo Torroja (Ultima Vez Company).
Creation and Public Sharing
Original creation is at the core of the program from day one, not as a final showcase, but as a continuous process. Participants develop individual or collective performative projects, sharing them with audiences in real performance contexts over the course of the year.
International GUESTS
Each month the program hosts international guests for one full week. This season we are proud to host 10 international choreographers who will contribute to the professional and artistic growth of the trainees.
