CHIARA OSELLA

ACTING, DRAMA, SINGING AND VOCALITY

With a three-octave vocal range and a curriculum that spans stage and screen, Chiara Osella is an eclectic artist who gives equal importance to the art of acting within every performance.

After starting her opera singer career as a a winner of Spoleto Competition, Chiara Osella became a member of Valencia’s Palau de Les Arts Academy, where she worked alongside Plácido Domingo and under the guidance of stage director Davide Livermore. She has performed in important productions and concerts in Italy and abroad (Teatro Regio Torino, Teatro Politeama Palermo, Auditorium della Musica Roma, Muscat Royal Opera House, Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, Seoul Arts Center, …) in both classical and baroque repertoire with conductors such as Fabio Biondi, Federico Maria Sardelli, Evelino Pidò, Marco Angius, ….

Chiara Osella also takes an active engagement in contemporary music and has performed both as singer and actress in several world premieres of works written especially for her voice (Carlo Boccadoro, Marcello Panni, Matteo d’Amico, Missy Mazzoli, Nigel Osborne, …).

She is co-creator of the cross-over project Swing Opera, a collaboration with the jazz manouche trio Accordi Disaccordi that seeks to transcend the boundaries between musical genres and to engage a new audience with the classical repertoire combining opera arias with swing music (Parma OFF, Macerata Opera Festival, Umbria Jazz, Russian tour, …).
